Shane Tangen, Coach and Mentor

Dear LRFC Family and Friends,

It is with great regret we have to announce after a long battle with liver and kidney disease, Coach Shane Tangen passed away October 19th. He was a great coach, respected mentor, and all around good guy. His kind heart and gentle personality made him a favorite of all who were fortunate enough to be coached by, or spent time with him.

RIP Coach Shane. You will be missed.

Celebration Services will be held on November 12th at 2:00PM, at Maplewood Golf Course (4050 Valley Highway, Renton WA 98058).

What Are Your Ruggers Eating?

Rugby World has a great article up and we think it's worth sharing!

Rugby is a sport for many different shapes, sizes, qualities, skill sets and mindsets. Made up of 15 positions just on the field, body shapes and compositions are inevitably going to be vastly different.

As a result, so too can be the nutritional requirements required for each position. However, there are certain evergreen foods that all rugby players can incorporate into their diet. The health benefits of the foods below are universal no matter your body type and position on the field.

Consider each of them in your pre-and-post match diets to ensure you’re playing at an optimal level every time you hit the rugby pitch.

Here are the Top 10 Foods Every Rugby Player Needs in Their Diet...

Liberty Rugby Families! We have 3 open positions on our Board Of Directors. Secretary, Director of Fundraising and Director of Operations. If you or someone you know would be interested in any of these positions, please send nominations and questions to libertyrugby@gmail.com.

We are a fun bunch! Come and join us!

Huge shout out to Papa Dodd for organizing our Salmon Days celebrations!  This is always a great event for our club to get out there and show everyone what we can offer to our area's youth.  We had a great turn out to march in the parade. Thank you to all our volunteers, we couldn't do it without you!
