NAI 7’s

 

2024 NAI 7’s is a fun tournament that allows our teams to play against teams from ALL over the US, build bonds with their teammates & experience tour travel. 

Tournament Details

Tournament Dates:  July 26th – July 27th, 2024 

Field location: Regional Athletic Complex, 2280 North Rose Park Lane, Salt Lake City, UT 84116

Player Costs:  $225 – Payment Link

Players Costs are kept as low as possible at $225.00 BUT that fee does not cover all the costs to cover Tour so Fundraising/Sponsor outreach is mandatory for ALL players. With 3 teams going the costs are considerably more this year. We are attending as Liberty Rugby Club so fundraising, and costs are spread evenly between all teams and participation is expected by all. Links to ALL fundraisers will be sent in next couple days.

It is very important that every player pay their portion and participate in all fundraising opportunities. PLEASE HAVE A TALK WITH SCOTT WRIGHT OR ALLEN DODD IF ASSISTANCE IS NEEDED. I WILL NOT TURN AWAY A PLAYER FOR FINANCIAL REASONS SO WE CAN ARRANGE OR WORK SOMETHING OUT.

Departure and Return Timing:

  • Departure Date: Wednesday, July 24th, 2024 
  • Departure Time: 2:00 AM (Arrive by 1:30 AM) at Doofers (16430 SE 128th St, Renton, WA 98059) eat on the road
  • Return Date: Sunday, July 28th, 2024  
  • Return Time: 7 – 8 PM at  Doofers (16430 SE 128th St, Renton, WA 98059) – Players will call rides when we are in Ellensburg.  Players need to be picked up from Doofers.

Hotels and Travel Logistics:

Lodging details will be shared with each team member after they register for the event via email.  

We will be driving vans from Renton to Utah.  Vans will be staffed with a multiple adults to ensure we have plenty of management to go around.  Be assured that we knjow where they are at ALL times and any travel away from the team is done in groups.

Lady Liberty players:  This is our first trip to NAI’s. We will be traveling along with the boys teams in vans. We will have a separate van for the girls and will be staying at separate accommodations. Other than those minor adjustments, we are one club and will support each other throughout the weekend.

  • Poppin Popcorn Fundraiser: This is similar to the Double Good Popcorn Fundraiser BUT with more flavor/size options! And yes we have tested the product & it is excellent! Sale starts May 1 st & link will be added soon.

  • 50/50 Raffle: Hoping to do another 50/50 at Seawolves date TBD

Players/Parents please share the fundraising campaigns &; sponsorship opportunities with friends, families, and co-workers. The more things are shared, the greater the opportunity to have costs covered in full.

Communication:

  • Boys Players:  Players, Coaches and Scott will communicate through the SportYou app. The code will be given to them and it will be MANDATORY for them to join. This is how we will inform them of practices, time, and updates. As well as the way the players can contact myself or Coach. AGAIN, THIS IS FOR PLAYERS ONLY.
  • Boys Parents:  A SportYou Liberty NAI Parents Group to make communicating to you and each other if needed simple. Please download the Sportsyou app and on the left you will see a Join A Group tab. Code will be provided over email. If you already have SportsYou, just select the Join Group. If any parent needs to talk with me or needs information, feel free to email me at libertyrugbyHSD@gmail.com. 
  • Lady Liberty:  Papa Dodd will set up a chat with all rostered players and an alternate communication method with parents (similar to our standard communication lines, just a smaller group).  

Parents wanting to attend:

We encourage parents to attend the Tournament to watch their players as well as support the team! If parents do plan to attend, you will need to cover your own lodging and travel. We will provide lists of lodging options with special discounts etc
Parents are welcome to come hang out with us at the fields as well as come by where  we are staying but be aware that we will have Player Meetings and Game discussions so players will be unavailable at some times.

On Saturday, parents are welcome to join us for dinner after our Team Tournament Debriefing. Time will be determined that day & communicated to families.

While we will have fun while we are there, we do take this tournament and opportunity serious. We manage and expect things at the next level as that is where I would like every player to be. Either Club Rugby, College Rugby or Academy Teams. Last year we had 2 U18’s talked to by Davenport University as well as 5 of our U16 get on their radar.  While winning is a goal, it is not our main goal.
